Problem with BlackBerry 8120 (OS 4.5.0.81) with WiFi ONLY (no data plan)

Hi,
I just signed up EQO and love the service, but it only works once.

I have a blackberry 8120 and no data plan (I don't need it since I have another phone from company that provide data plan).

Once I install EQO on the 8120, I can sign-in and add IM accounts. All is excellent. But if I exit the porgram, or if I moved in and out of WiFi; EQO will not connect again and just say connection timeout. I know the connection is fine as I'm using the hotspot browser to read emails and web site.

I can get EQO work again if a do a FACTORY reset and EQO will again work ONCE. After any kind of program exit or network disconnect, then EQO will forever timeout.

Anyone have this problem?

Wifi vs network EDGE connection - BB 8120

Hi,

I'm a new user, and this may have been answered somewhere in these forums already (I did a quick search but didn't see anything), but I have a question re: Wifi connection vs network data connection:

Is there a way to force EQO to use wifi connection only? If both network and wifi are active, which one takes precedence? I ask because I have a limited bucket of data...

I'm using a Pearl 8120.

Thanks in advance,

A.

aim does not display contacts

Hi i have no problems connecting and even tried checking and unchecking the tcp connect but none of my aim contacts show up even when i'm connected. The only way i can get my contacts to show up is if i unclick the hide offline im contacts and even then it says that all my contacts are signed off when they're not. Does anyone know a fix to this problem?

BB 8120. Can I use wifi to make calls with EQO?

Hello,

I´m from Spain and I have a BB 8120. Next week I will go to USA. I will disable the data on itinerancy (that´s because I will pay about 10$ per day if I use it)

My question is, if I connect my BB 8120 to a wifi connection, Can I use EQO just using wifi and I only have to pay for EQO rates? I don´t want to be charged as a data connection...

Wait your answer

Regards

Black Berry Pearl 8130

So, I have downloaded and successfully installed the eqo software application, and it looks good, more user friendly than the previous app I had installed.

My only problem is it won't actually sign in on any of my IM accounts... I just get the "connecting" message.. and it's now been saying that for about 10 minutes (at least).

Is there something I've got to change in my blackberry in order for this to work... I saw that there was an older post regarding changing some settings and there was a link to the blackberry website with settings for individual carriers, but I didn't see anything for Telus (my carrier).

Anyone got any suggestions or help for me? =D

Thanks in advance!

When using the stock AT&T theme on my Curve 8310 Eqo's AIM works fine. When following the directions all over google to unlock other carriers themes (specifically vodafone...but all carriers are there) Eqo's aim stops working. It logs in fine, but as soon as you click on someone on your buddy list to open an IM with them it throws this error:

Uncaught Exception: Java.Lang.Nullpointexception

Dont make me pick between this awesome theme and Eqo!!

EQO fine for 2 days then effectively "disables" itself and other advanced phone features?

Hi, I have an 8830 and got EQO last week and it worked perfectly fine for a couple days. I used it for chatting through msn and google talk. It was great!

Then, ironically at probably the least opportune moment (but that's irrelevant), the connection became disabled, and I couldn't re-enable it like usual by closing the app and reloading it. I then found that gmail, internet connectivity, and navigation, all wouldn't work either.

What also happened was that the 1XEV in the upper right corner had changed to 1xev (and sometimes 1x), and the battery use increased to the point where I would need to recharge every 20 hours or so, to the usual 48, and the signal strength went down to almost nothing.

Text messaging, phone communication and applications that did require external communication seemed to still worked fine.

Because of all this, I assumed that it was the network, but after the issue wasn't fixed in a few hours I started wondering, and decided that it must not be the problem after a day. I then thought of anything I had changed on the phone recently, and the only thing was installing EQO. After uninstalling the app and the required reboot, everything went back to normal.

Let me know if troubleshooters need more information.

Disconnects every 30 minutes!

Hi, EQO seems to work fine on my BlackBerry 8100 (on O2 UK) except for when I don't use the phone for 30 minutes, EQO disconnects (pops up a message saying it's been idle for 30 minutes and is going to disconnect) until I click on it again.

Is there a way to keep it connected all the time? It kind of defies the concept of IM if my contacts can't see me connected.

Thanks

Changing my display name?

Hey guys! Great software as usual!

My question is, is there a way to change my display name. Before I founf this great program I was using a trial version of others and didn't like them and I had changed my display name. But now eqo only shows that display name. And also doesn't show what's currently my display name on my PC. For example I have my contact info displayed on my PC but when I log into eqo it says I have a blackberry for sale. Now I had that display name MONTHs ago lol. Why doesn't eqo show what it is on my PC and is there a way to change it in eqo?

Thanks!
Cory

BB 8830 Error 06 Connection Problem

I'm running a Blackberry 8830. I've run EQO for a couple of weeks with no problems. All of a sudden I am getting an Error 06 - Exception Code: java.lang.NullPointerException error. I tried to reload EQO, but same results. I tried other Java apps, but everything works fine. I've powered the unit down and back up, but still no luck. I have tried switching the TCP/IP setting, and also cycling the radio (as suggested in other threads), but no luck. I haven't loaded any new applications, so I can't think of anything that I could've done to corrupt EQO. Any ideas how I can get it to work again? Thanks! BTW -- great app!

Can not uninstall EQO from my BBerry 8300

Hello

Last week I installed EQO using my blackberry 8300.
yesterday I was not able to connect since I got a message tellling me that in order to connect a version update was required, so I proceeded with the update. Despite updating I was getting the same message so I decided to uninstall and reinstall...

I accessed the applications list and deleted the EQO software, after that reset my device, however the EQO icon is still at my bberry desktop but it is not listed anymore at my applications list.

What should I do?

Thanks

MSN functions in EQO

Hello,

I'm just found this great software, however I have some questions maily regarding the IM:
MSN.- Does the contacts that are blocked in the MSN still blocked in the EQO? or their status change and I am visible for them?
Does the contacts are updated everytime I open EQO?
Yahoo.- I can not sign in despite all the data is correct. The message is "unable to sign in catcherxxxxxxx on Yahoo! Error message: Invalid screen name"
How can I fix this?

As well, a third question. If I'm abroad (ex:USA) trying to place a call to home (Mexico). It's automatic or what should I perform to use your system?

Thanks,
Juan

Changing IM notification tone

Howdy!

I'm curious if there is any way to change the notification tone when receiving IM's. I love that I can log into the 3 IM accounts I use all in one piece of software, but I rather prefer the BB IM apps vibrating notification feature over the actual tone. Any way to change this??

I am a T-Mobile customer. Although I have the unlimited Blackberry data add-on, so that I have unlimited email and web use, IMs use (Yahoo messenger, Google Talk, etc.) and considered separate, so they are charged per message, or I can pay extra for a plan to get 400, 1000 messages per month, etc.

My question is, does the EQO gets around this and uses my Email/Internet data plan to transmit and receive IMs, so that now my IMs become "free"? I am unsure about this even after reading all the information on the web site.

Thanks.

EQO 1.1 crashes quite often and functionality request

Hi,
I have a Blackberry 8700 running the latest OS 4.2 version and the latest EQO 1.1.

I use the MSN part of EQO very often. So I would be chatting away, not doing anything special and the software just crashes and brings me back to the applications menu. This happens quite frequently.
It's quite frustrating.

Also the IM client is seriously lacking in several areas.

1. Copy/Paste, URL selection/following.

2. Automatic re-sign-in as soon as the wireless network is available again.

3. Indication if the message has been sent or not. And if it hasn't, as in the network wasn't available, then automatic re-send when it's back even if contact is off line and in this case off line messaging should be used.

4. Indication on if the contact I'm talking to is actually online(Yesterday I was typing away like a fool, then checked the contact list and the contact had signed out, that would be fine if off line messaging was supported)

5. Option to turn on time stamping on all messages and events.

6. Information display for a specific contact that would show e-mail address and other information.

7. MSNP 13-15 protocol support for all the new server stored preferences(user defined custom static contact nicknames, etc.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Notification_Protocol

Thanks,

Keep up the great work.

EQO Connection problem on Blackberry 8700

I just keep getting ' The application EQO has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy' error every time I try and go online. I even tried turning off firewall on Blackberry but then I get a 'Connection Failure...a0002' error when I try logging on.

Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated. Thanks ion advance.

Uncaught exception: net.rim.vm.StackOverflowError

If you get this error on your BlackBerry, "Uncaught exception: net.rim.vm.StackOverflowError", when you attempt to make an EQO call, you need to uninstall EQO and then download the latest version from http://get.eqo.com on your BlackBerry browser. EQO BlackBerry version 1.0.0 has a bug relating to "call history" which will cause the application to stop allowing EQO Out calls after the call history has been filled.
