Doesn't work with T-Mobile Dash
Submitted by jsaletan on November 16, 2006 - 4:02pm.
I can launch the EQO Mobile MIDlet and it establishes a connection, but when I go to IM Services and try to select one it crashes every time with the message: A MIDlet thread threw an uncaught exception. Kill the MIDlet? I have added a Yahoo account and installed the EQO for Skype Plugin. I'm using the latest version of Skype on my PC (2.5.0.151). Any suggestions? I just recently heard of this problem from another user. It's a bug in your particular JVM that causes this, care to try a workaround we've developed? Let me know if you're interested. Chris RE: Doesn't work with T-Mobile DashSubmitted by jsaletan on November 16, 2006 - 5:13pm.
Yes, I'm very interested. Let me know what I can do. Thanks. RE: RE: Doesn't work with T-Mobile DashSubmitted by chris on November 16, 2006 - 5:16pm.
Send me an email to chris@eqo.com and I'll send you the files you need. Chris Doesn't work with T-Mobile DashSubmitted by jsaletan on November 17, 2006 - 10:43am.
Just following up on the forum in case anyone else is curious... Chris was helpful and incredibly responsive (seriously, what an amazing level of support for a beta product) but unfortunately the files he sent did not get EQO Mobile working on my T-Mobile Dash phone. It's too bad because this seems like a great piece of software. I'm still looking for a good IM client that supports Yahoo, MSN, Skype, Jabber, etc. The ability to use Skype VOIP with my WiFi capable phone would be especially nice. Maybe this little plug will help spur the developers at EQO to work harder on a WM5 Smartphone (non JVM) version. Come on, you don't really need to sleep, do you? Thanks again, Chris. No, no, sleep is for chumps. It'll take us some time, but there will be a WM version of EQO Mobile someday. In the mean time, maybe T-Mobile will release a JVM update? Anyway, it's a shame EQO Mobile doesn't work, seems like quite a small issue. Chris Are there any updates orSubmitted by harneyti on November 28, 2006 - 9:38am.
Are there any updates or workarounds as of yet? Thanks for the update. RE: Are there any updates orSubmitted by chris on November 28, 2006 - 10:04am.
I'm sorry to say I haven't found anything yet:( I've got my eyes open, but I can't devote my workdays to this cause. Anybody out there know anything? Chris Just tried on my dash, gotSubmitted by motionus on November 28, 2006 - 7:35pm.
Just tried on my dash, got some of the stuff working but I couldn't get teh aim to work. The google talk seemed to work. What is the problem with the java on the dash. Can this be solved by somehow downloading a different java midlet. Hope we can solve this issue. Thanks Josh RE: Just tried on my dash, gotSubmitted by chris on November 29, 2006 - 10:30am.
To my knowledge so far, it seems that the JVM (one we have no experience with) has some trouble with the contact lists. You can see your Google Talk contacts? How many contacts do you have? Are you able to chat with any of your contacts at all? Chris Still Not Working with WM6 ROMSubmitted by afu1979 on May 5, 2007 - 11:13am.
FYI, I decided to try this after installing the new t-mobile ROM and the same error occurs. re: the dashSubmitted by peter on May 7, 2007 - 10:15am.
We are developing a Windows based version of EQO Mobile that should work on the Dash. This version should be ready soon. Please be patient! Peter |
