Changing my display name?

Hey guys! Great software as usual!

My question is, is there a way to change my display name. Before I founf this great program I was using a trial version of others and didn't like them and I had changed my display name. But now eqo only shows that display name. And also doesn't show what's currently my display name on my PC. For example I have my contact info displayed on my PC but when I log into eqo it says I have a blackberry for sale. Now I had that display name MONTHs ago lol. Why doesn't eqo show what it is on my PC and is there a way to change it in eqo?

Hello Cory, I assume you are talking about an IM display name and not your EQO display name? Currently we do not enable changing IM display names through our client. We use whatever name your IM service has for you, which should be your PC display name. I recommend changing it again on your PC in the hopes that it will propagate to EQO on your mobile.

thanks for the reply, but its still doing it... i changed my name on my PC msn so many times, bu no matter how many times i do EQO still doesnt change...

should i try uninstalling EQO and reinstall it to see if that helps?

The developers told me that we use whatever is saved on the MSN server. What client are you using on the PC? That could explain the situation. If uninstalling and reinstalling EQO likely won't change this, but you could try it.

windows live messenger 8.5 its says...

also i would like to report s frequent problem i have been having, whenever it like it disconnects and i have to reconnect the app. i know it suppose to do this for when you get a call, but its when its idling, and i'm not doing anything. for exmaple i wont IM for about 1 hour and i know its connected, put it in the holster and come back to it and it will say connection error, or disconnected... is this a known issue?

Windows Live 8.5 should be updating the MSN database with your chosen nickname and I don't know why it isn't. We just use what MSN gives us. I'm sorry, I can't help you here.

What connection error message do you get when you are randomly disconnected? It could be an EQO issue, but it could also be a problem with you losing connection with your carrier from time to time.

I have the same problem. I think it has to do with the differnces between Windows Messenger and Live Messenger. Althought they do the same job, it looks like they store profile names in different records under your account. Try logging in to the web messenger @ http://webmessenger.msn.com/ and changing your profile name there.

Yes, I have seen this also. We are hoping to fix this in a later version.
