Hello, I have tried using Eqmoble with my palm .I cannot seem to get it up and running. I was looking for a some detailed instructions for how to set up jvm on my palm. The whole memory thing and are there any other settings I have to setup? I think this could be a great product. Thanks for letting my try it out and I hope I can get it up and running. Thanks, Chet Trackback URL for this post:http://community.eqo.com./trackback/774

Hi Chet, I am going to assume that you have already installed the JVM on your Palm. If you haven't, send me an email (peter@eqo) and I will help you do that. Now, once you have the JVM on your Palm, go to Preferences, and then JVM, and then select Use Double Buffering, and set Memory Maximum and Maximum Java Thread Stack Size to as high as they will go and then select done (mine go to 32 Mb and 32 Kb respectively). These are the settings that I use on my Palm, and EQO runs reasonably well(though it is not perfect). You may want to play with your settings to see if you can find a better fit for you. I would also be interested in the settings that other EQO Palm users have tried for their JVMs, so please let us know! Peter Another VERY slow Treo 700p with SprintPCSSubmitted by dhdunn on April 20, 2007 - 8:29am.
Hi!! I just found EQO today (4/20/2007), and have downloaded it, the PC plug-in and the Palm OS JVM, and installed everything. I've seen in much older posts that there were (around June, 2006) only 2 buttons that were touch-screen-enabled, and this seems to be the way my Treo 700p (SprintPCS) is behaving. It is also incredibly slow, and sometimes completely unresponsive. I have changed the memory settings as well as the stack settings to maximum per Peter's posting, to no avail. I have Mundu universal IM, and i made sure that it's "always-on" function is turned off (from another posting from some guy who had an "always-on" option in his email program). Is there anything else one needs to do to get this to run at with a useable response time? I'd LOVE to be able to use this, as Skype is a corp standard where I work, and i would be able to be accessible to my clients on my Treo. Thanks for any and all help!! Warmest regards, VERY slow Treo 700p with Sprint PCS now just rebootsSubmitted by dhdunn on April 20, 2007 - 8:39am.
Well, now my Treo 700p just reboots after I hit OK on the second user permissions screen. It is in the process of connecting. The Skype window on my PC appears and disappears and appears, and does that about 6 or 7 times, and, and during this connection process, the Treo then reboots. Also, I find the user permissions screens annoying. There should be an option (checkbox) which one can choose such that these screens are not shown again. Right now, EQO is not usable on my Treo. I don't have any other information to share (no error messages, just reboots). So, I'm going to uninstall it. But I sure hope that there is some fix as this is a really cool concept. Thanks!! David, Thanks for all of your beta testing on the Treo 700p. There are definitely limitations to this Treo version of EQO Mobile. We are looking into a better way of delivering EQO Mobile for the Palm platform in the future. Cheers, Peter |
