EQO Traveler is here.

EQO Traveler is here. Now when you roam with EQO you can use Travel Mode, so that all of your EQO calls will use your inbound roaming minutes instead of outbound roaming minutes. You can also enter the number of a local prepaid SIM card in Travel Mode so that your calls will be routed and charged to that number. Still confused? Check out this super helpful Travel Mode how-to video—Episode III Revenge of the Chris, the 4th and final video in our 6 part saga. Although I know that you don’t need any convincing, there are several reasons to watch this clip. This is the first EQO video to be filmed on Bryan’s fancy new HD video camera (so if you are a friend or family member of Bryan’s or the dude who sold him the camera, you might enjoy this). Also, this is Chris’ final performance for EQO (you’ll either be saying “phew, thank God” or “Why Chris? Why? Say it ain’t so!”). And finally, this is amateur film-making at its worst (which is always good for a few chuckles).

Hi, We don't have our banners up on our site right now. I can email you one though. Did you have a particular size in mind? Please email me (peter@eqo.com) and I will get you this. Peter I freakin love EQOSubmitted by jay817 on June 1, 2008 - 9:20am.
I heard about EQO on mocospace.com and I love it! I can use it on my Windows Mobile phone and have all J Fort Worth Tx. using a foreign SIM in traveler modeSubmitted by wobegon on October 21, 2008 - 5:18pm.
How does travel mode, with a foreign SIM work? The video doesn't quite explain it. Two basic ideas at work, please tlel me if I've got this correct (assume I'm in Germany for these examples): 1) EQO is in travel mode, using my AT&T USA SIM. When I "dial out" to the US from Germany using EQO, it rings my phone from the US, then dials the US number while I wait. A connection is made FROM the US to my phone roaming in Germany. 2) EQO is in travel mode, using a foreign SIM. In this case, I've got a +49... number plugged into the "callback number field" of my phone with EQO. If the above scenario is correct, does that mean I can carry a second (unlocked) phone with me that contains the German SIM card, and I will get the callback there? - - - follow up questions - - - If the above is correct, that would mean that calls directed to my phone number will still go to my phone, but they'll be accepted at the local incoming roaming rate. And that my outgoing calls will be at the lowest possible rate. Am I getting this right? Thing I'm a bit confused about is if I use a local SIM and carry only one phone, what happens to calls that are directed at my USA number? That is, the number that everyone knows to call me at, my mobile number, not the foreign SIM local number? Hi wobegon, Okay, this isSubmitted by a.hall on October 22, 2008 - 12:28pm.
Hi wobegon, Okay, this is a long one. For all you users following this string, we plan to have a new Rate Calculator on our landing page that will have all our rates shown for use in Traveler Mode for the near future. Now, let's get to it shall we? 1) Using a US SIM while in Germany This isn't exactly the scenario that the "Traveler" option is meant for. As no matter what, you are in fact going to be dinged for long distance. This is no good, neither of us wants this. Your initial deduction is correct. Only you would get dinged more in EQO credits as well. And as I said, neither of us want that. So let's just forget about this scenario as it doesn't exactly work for anyone. The roaming charges that you would incur are just too much. 2) Using German SIM while Traveling in Germany This is a good way to use the Traveler Mode. Picking up a local prepaid SIM is the more ideal scenario. So you pop this Sim in to your phone and be sure that your APN settings are correct to this carrier. Those of you that are not sure what the settings may be? Go to this link and you will find the list we have to date. If it's not there, if you Google it, you shouldn't have a problem. http://community.eqo.com/forum/apn_settings_0 Sorry for the tangent. Now, after you've gone and done all this, entering the local number of the SIM in to the Traveler Mode will now set you to a Call Back scenario. This means that when you initiate a call, you will receive a message stating that we will be calling you back shortly. Now you're saying, "Well, that’s great.. but how do I know how much I'll get charged" right? well, here's the quick break down. Germany to US call: EQO to EQO call will not be available but the costs for the other connections will be land €0.229/minute to US (land line or mobile) and €0.075/text message to US. So yes, this means you can carry a second phone or use your own if it is already unlocked. Just install EQO on the other phone and sign in with your user information. Remember not to forget to set the Traveler Mode in the Settings. - - - follow up question answers - - - While logged in to EQO and in Traveler Mode, calls to your US mobile (under scenario 2), will not be directed to you. The only way to receive calls to your US number is to have your US SIM in the phone. And like I said earlier, you don't want to do that... unless you don't mind the roaming charges you're going to incur. If you want people to call you through EQO, they will not be able to call you with an EQO 2 EQO call. What you will want to do is send them the number that you will be using (pssst... EQO Messages are perfect for that) and have them add this number to their contact list. Granted, they are going to get charged our EQO Out rate of $0.305/ minute to call you. So there's that should be everything. I hope that this answers your question. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. Anthony Hall |
