Say NO to Junk Mail

Whenever I hear talk of going green or being green, I always think about the giant piles of junk mail I get on a daily basis. Every day, without fail, since I moved into my townhouse two years ago, I get a newspaper Michaels ad wrapped in plastic. This is particularly offensive to me because I have never shopped at Michaels and likely never will. I also find wrapping a newspaper in plastic rather overkill, especially since I get five a week. If they didn't wrap them in plastic, surely at least one would make it to me whole. Also, why are they addressed to me specifically and not my wife who has on occasion shopped at Michaels? I hate junkmail and I want it to stop. I am probably responsible for one tree a year, probably a nice one.

Last week on Facebook I saw that one of my friends had joined this group. Finally, the answer to my prayers: The Red Dot Campaign. I implore you all to join the War on Junkmail, join a group like the Red Dot Campaign, and request that you no longer receive junk mail. It's really just a giant wast of trees, especially considering that most ads are available online these days.

It's a shame indeed. You could start an organization and lead the war on junk mail in the USA? I'll back you up.
